Meet the Coaches
Lead Golf Instructor
Playing at Nebraska Wesleyan University Rory was a two time All-American, four time All-Conference, 2014 Conference Champion, and the 2014 Mid-America Player of The Year. Turning Pro in 2014, Rory competed on various mini tours and accumulated 10 top 5’s and a professional win. Rory’s qualified for the final stage of the US Open twice & competed against some of the best PGA tour players. In 2016 he founded Rory Doll Golf Academy and since then, has built the largest golf academy on the Central Coast. Rory’s passion is to equip his students with a path to improvement that is simple, effective, and gives them the opportunity to achieve their goals. Rory is also the head coach of San Luis Obispo High Varsity Boys & Girls Golf Team, the co-founder of the Central Coast Invitation league. Rory co-chairs AJGA events at Monarch Dunes. and works closely with US Kids, The First Tee, and local junior tours.
Coach Consolino helps golfers reach their full potential by improving all aspects of the game including technical, on-course, fitness, and mental strength. Tony is the driving force behind the Group Clinics offered at Rory Doll Golf Academy. Along with Coach Doll, Tony develops the programs to teach every level of golfer to truly enjoy the game and improve your health, coordination and skill.
Golf Instructor - The First Tee
Coach Darren is a Cal Poly professor who specializes in coaching and golf instruction. Darren Avrit currently has two sons competing in college on scholarships at high level programs. Darren is a certified first tee coach and enjoys running both the Monarch Dunes and Dairy Creek First Tee programs. Darren is also a junior instructor and focuses on junior group coaching, and private junior lessons. Darren brings fun and enjoyment into the game for young players while giving them great direction.
Coach McKee grew up in San Luis playing competitive golf for San Luis Obispo High School and then Fresno State. After a career in TV and High Tech, Wes moved his young family back to San Luis and now coaches the Boys and Girls Golf Teams at his alma mater, and teaches all aspects of this game in clinics, small groups, and privately at Dairy Creek and Monarch Dunes Golf Courses. Wes uses video and technology to teach the physical fundamentals and mental skills needed to play better golf and fully enjoy the game. Coach McKee works with juniors and adults interested in developing a focused practice program that translates the "Range Game" to lower scores on the golf course.
